Sustainable Scotland

A number of key initiatives in recent years have positioned Scotland as a leader in the field of green energy in Europe. The Scottish Government has a target of generating 31% of Scotland’s electricity from renewable energy by 2011 and now a challenging 80% by 2020. This is one of the most ambitious sustainability targets put into law in the world. Delivering a greener Scotland is a challenge that must be met, not only to reduce the environmental impact of production and consumption of resources, but to permit the country to flourish in an sustainable and economic way.

It is integral to delivering a sustainable future that best practice examples are shared, new technologies showcased and real results are delivered. Public services have an integral role to play and this conference will tackle some of the key issues and innovative solutions to establishing a greener future for Scotland.
