Procurement in the NHS 2009

OVERVIEW

Across the UK the NHS spends more than £20bn a year on goods and services. A professional procurement approach is crucial if the NHS is to achieve true value for money whilst, at the same time, not compromising its integrity and the quality of healthcare and services provided.

Organisations and individuals employed within the NHS are encouraged to share their knowledge with colleagues and to develop networks of professionals across the UK to assist and grow the professionalism of everyone involved.
