Paul Erricker is director of Erricker and Associates Limited. He is a Project Manager, Facilitator and Consultant who specialises in developing project and business management capability in the engineering and construction sectors. Formally trained as a Civil Engineer, he gained his Chartership during a fast-track operational career at Costain, including valuable secondments to BAA and Thames Water. He then moved into the area of corporate management and internal consultancy, reporting directly to Costain’s Executive and PLC Boards. Having delivered Group-wide business improvement initiatives and training programmes, Paul then established Erricker and Associates and has been busy ever since, delivering improved project and business performance for key customers. Recent examples of assignments for major engineering and construction firms: • Facilitating the development of competency frameworks in support of a Group-wide performance management regime • Development and delivery support for a new Project Management Academy with particular focus on the career progression and performance of project managers • Facilitating a major programme of leadership workshops, driving forward business improvement in a major UK civil engineering contractor • Advisory role to a global multi-billion dollar contractor for the development of a project governance regime to protect shareholder risk and maximise project performance

Ian Santry works at the Home Office providing support to key programmes and projects, particularly in the areas of initiation, P30 support, risk management and skills development. Ian is also an experienced OGC Gateway Medium Risk Review Team Leader. Recently he led on the development of the APMG PPM Sponsorship qualification. Prior to working for the Home Office, Ian worked on a range of IS enabled programs at the MoD and led PPM training at the National School for Government.

David Ferrett has broad based experience in the management of major transportation and infrastructure projects, with international civil engineering contractors and client organisations.
He is currently a Project Sponsor for the Olympic Delivery Authority, responsible for Structures, Bridges and highways in the south of the Olympic Park and for the publicly funded infrastructure being delivered by Westfield at Stratford City.
Previously he was Project Director for Westminster City Council, responsible for the award winning Paddington Station Long Term Vehiclular Access project. requiring the demolition and reconstruction of bridges across the station throat.

Chris Edwards, Professor in Management Information Systems Cranfield School of Management has worked in industry for 12 years, involved in developing business systems. During that time, he qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant and hence tended to specialise in financial information systems. After gaining his MA, he joined the Scottish Business School as a lecturer. Upon receiving a PhD, he moved to Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA and then to the Chair of Management Information Systems at Cranfield University.
His interests lie in IT-enabled business change, particularly in the role required of very senior organisational management to successfully action such change. Recently, his focus has been the development of proposals for change investments. In this area, he has conducted seminars on IT-enabled change throughout the world. His talents lie in engaging senior management in the subject, in a non-technical and involving manner.
Chris works with a multitude of organisations, ranging from medium sized commodity producers to the world's largest banks and pharmaceutical companies.

Dr Janet Smart, Director BT Centre, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford

Janet Smart joined the Saïd Business School in September 2007 to set up the BT Centre in Major Programme Management. The new MSc course in Major Programme Management will admit its first students in October 2009.
Before moving to the Saïd, Janet had been a Reader in the Department of Engineering Science at Oxford. Her recent research there had been in Manufacturing Systems and Mass Customisation, but now she is investigating various aspects of programme management as a complex system.
Janet graduated from Oxford with a degree in Physics, and did her PhD in Computing at Durham University.

Julie Partridge, Programme Director, National School of Government: Centre for Strategic Leadership

Julie’s early career was as an operational manager before moving into training and development within HMRC. Her work as an internal consultant involved major change programmes supporting modernising government and mergers between Inland Revenue and other departments and agencies. Whilst developing leaders to communicate and manage change more effectively she took development out of the classroom and into the workplace using one to one and team coaching. In 2003 she began work with members of the SCS. Bringing leaders together to support each other through action learning they found the added value they bring as a corporate leadership resource. In 2006 Julie joined the National School to broaden her experience and to work with leaders from different public sector roles.
She is the Programme Director of both the Aspiring to Senior Civil Service and the Sunningdale Leadership Programme which prepares aspirants for leadership at the senior level. Julie believes the best way for leaders to learn is through discovery and aims to move leaders from knowing what it takes to lead in every day activities to leading major change

Donnie is a specialist in developing project leadership, at an individual, team and organisational level through designing and delivering development programmes. Current client assignments include designing a leadership programme for an aerospace company, embedding project management into a major international consultancy, supporting the senior management of a construction company and running development workshops across a public sector organisation. Donnie is writing a book for Gower Publishing on Developing Project Leadership which will identify the most effective strategies and interventions for success. Research is being carried out in association with the National Cente for Project Management.
