At Public Service Events' 2nd annual Later Life conference, over 300 delegates heard about the agenda for social care reform, with keynote presentations from the Department of Health and the Local Government Association. With the reform programme coming at the same time as significant funding shortfalls, in particular for local authorities, the need for joint working – between central and local government, the health service, voluntary and private sectors – was especially emphasised.
