How do we overcome the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding dementia throughout society as a whole? Partnership working and community responsibility may be part of the answer. However, a major shift in opinion is required amongst both professionals and the wider population if people living with dementia and their carers are to receive the respect and dignity they deserve.
