Chris Hume, Head of Leadership and Talent, I&DEA

Chris Hume is Head of Leadership and Talent at the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA). This brings together programme areas covering:

• political leadership
• managerial leadership
• the national graduate recruitment programme
• talent and skills
• the peer clearing house
• people management and organisational development

Previously, Chris was Director of Practice and Performance at the Youth Justice Board (YJB) for England and Wales. He was responsible for developing effective practice for those working with young offenders and improving the performance of youth justice services.

Chris’s career has primarily been in local authority social care. He was Director of Social Services in both Lewisham and Walsall between 1994 and 2000.
