| CCS gives update on CCA progress |
|
A letter from Dan Greaves has been sent to stakeholders to highlight work that is being undertaken by the Civil Contingencies Secretariat (CCS) to ‘identify and disseminate good practice’ in relation to the business continuity duties of the Civil Contingencies Act.
Mr. Greaves states that the CSS is working very closely with local responders (e.g. ACPO, LGA, CFOA) and other key national stakeholders (e.g. BCI, CBI) in taking this work forward. A project board has been set up to oversee the project, and CCS is now in the process of setting up working groups to take forward the work in relation to business continuity management good practices and communicating with the public and promotion of business continuity.
These groups will be responsible for determining the specific issues that the CCS should focus on and identifying and disseminating relevant good practice.
Each group will be led by an expert from central government, and supported by a wide range of practitioners and other key players with specific expertise or access to key networks.
The project will deliver a suite of good practice examples for local responders to draw on as a resource and CCS is considering the provision of ‘skeleton materials’ for business continuity management promotion and raising public awareness which local responders could tailor to local needs. |
