| Roadshow will offer flood advice |
|
People in north Norfolk areas threatened by flooding are invited to a special roadshow next week in advance of particularly high tides in early October.
The event will be in one of the best-known vulnerable spots along the coastline - Sea Palling - where seven people died in 1953 when a tidal surge swamped swathes of the east coast and Holland.
The roadshow, run by North Norfolk District Council and other organisations, is being staged on Wednesday and features advice on how people can protect their properties and how they should react if flooding happens.
There will be maps of local risk areas and practical demonstrations of permanent flood defence products to protect homes and businesses.
NNDC civil contingencies manager Ace Dann said: "With autumn almost upon us and a lot of concern being expressed about the planetary high tide that's due on October 9, now is a great time for people to find out from the Environment Agency how to make properties more resilient to flooding, and get some peace of mind."
The flooding roadshow will be held in Sea Palling's Clink Road car park from 10am to 4pm.
