| £55m East Anglia police PFI |
|
Three groups are hoping to win a £55m police PFI deal in East Anglia.
The scheme is known as the Three Counties Police Investigation Centres deal and the identity parade consists of: Justice Support Service (featuring facilities management group Reliance); support services firm Global Solutions Limited (GSL); and Serco Home Affairs.
At present, the names of the contractors featuring in the groups are not available.
But in the past, both Reliance and GSL have worked with Carillion, while Serco has teamed up with Japanese contractor Kajima on some of its projects.
The scheme is a joint project between Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk police authorities, with the initiative being headed up by Norfolk police. The scheme involves financing, designing and building nine custody centres across the three counties, but the police authorities say they will accept variant bids.
The three groups have until June to send in their bids and the aim is to pick a preferred bidder by the end of this year. |
