| EDF secures streetlighting PFI |
|
EDF Energy has been appointed preferred bidder for Dorset County Council's £100m-plus streetlighting PFI deal.
The final business case is being prepared for submission to the Department for Transport. Council cabinet members will be asked to give the go-ahead for the project in July. It is hoped that financial close will be reached in the same month.
EDF will assume responsibility for the management, design, installation and ongoing repair and maintenance of Dorset's entire streetlighting stock (covering around 40,000 columns and other equipment). The bulk of replacement work will be carried out in the first five years of the contract. Work is likely to start towards the end of the year. |
