The NHS is under tremendous pressure to provide patient-centred care during a time of enormous demand and restricted budgets. The time has come to review the location of where that care realistically can take place. Unplanned and acute admissions are putting unnecessary strain on our hospital beds when treatment can be provided in the community or home to the satisfaction and preference of patients.
